The Latest

Howdy! Well Rob's off today to go to his orientation in the Highlands.....I'm a little jealous. While he's up there having fun kayaking, mountain biking, and enjoying the outdoors, I'm still here in Edinburgh looking for a job.....how tedious. I've applied to a million of them.....keep your fingers crossed, hopefully I'll get one soon! Who knows, I may end up being a nanny, receptionist, bar/wait staff, or personal assistant!

For those of you that aren't aware, we've found a one bedroom apartment and are living in it right now. It is fairly small, and we have no shower, so we have to take baths to get clean. I don't overly mind, but this drives Rob crazy....lol.....but I've set up some candles so he can enjoy his time in there a little more. In the meantime, he's dreaming up ways of concocting some solution so we can make our bath a shower.....hmmmm.....keep your fingers crossed. This smacks of a Gerry scheme. :)

We also get our food daily, from local stores....although there aren't really that many local bakeries nearby. But we have found an ASDA (or Walmart) that is a 15-20 minute bus ride away, so it is great for getting all we need! Also, IKEA isn't far too! Yay!!!!!! In all reality, we have gone there once to get the bare mininum.....b/c that is what we're living on!

Today in Edinburgh, it is raining. Don't be surprised if every note we write, describes this very same thing. I fear that this country is totally gray all the time......if you can, send us some sunshine in a bottle okay??

We'll I'm off to go set up a bank account, but I'll be back later to upload some pictures. Talk to you all soon!

Lots of love,

Sarah

Great to hear your news! I am sure some sunshine is headed your way I fear I know Scotland all too well so operative word is some.

Tell Rob, Kipp Wotherspoon is my Virology Rep in Toronto. Well not anymore, now that I am moving over to Oncology. We made the connection when I was telling him about how great your wedding was. I guess he played against Rob in Auroa. Kipp is doing great, he and Lindsay just had a little boy, Campbell about 2 months ago.

Anyways, I wish you much success in your search for employment. With your determination I am sure you will find something and perhaps a Home Depot of sorts for Rob's shower idea. Good Luck, Rob with that.

Lots of love and sunshine for you both.

Good to hear you've settled in safe and sound... know your Dad is always checking in on you so behave! :-). I'd think Rob could find one of those long tubes that attaches to the end of a bathroom spout with a shower head on the other end... They used to sell them in the plumbing stores for less than $10. No wonder the English are famous for never taking baths!

Good luck with the job hunt. We finally got a bit of sun here so I'll send you some.

Love Dad.

Hi Sarah and Rob!
I will be following your adventures very closely... Very nice to read about your new life in Scotland. I have been reading about the early life of Scotland when they were Celts for about a year now and I am FASCINATED with their history! The Highlanders are intriguing me. What a past!
The only bummer is the lack of sun. My heart goes to you guys. That would be thought on me as well... forget the shower (although I am like Rob on that one!) the lack of sun would really SUCK!!!
But enjoy the moment... you have each other, and you have a goal. Focus on that, and keep each other happy. Rain = cocooning and hummmmmmmmmm... other good things!
Good luck Sarah with your job searching. I am so not worry about you. You are so outspoken and you can sell a fridge to an eskimo. And you Rob... well, you are such an easygoing guy that how can people canNOT like you. (Just keep up the grades!) and you got it made!
You kids are very important to me. I care for you both very much.
I presently have Charlotte and Alexander here at our house. They are sleeping over. My boys are so happy...
I gave Gerry your wedding pictures CDs today. (You have over 300 pictures on them). I hope you guys like them. I made sure that the photographer and I had a different angle of things. I had a BLAST taking those unformal pictures...
Keep up with your blog,
Hoping all the best for you,
Don't be shy to call us upon anything. We are there for you.

Take care,
Danie and the gang

Hey Wee Robbie and your Bonnie Lassie Sarah,

Thanks for all the pics and notes on your adventures in Scotland. Else and I had a fabolous time at your wedding and have lots of pics to send you when we get back to Barrie and on high speed. Our dial up is only 46 kbps so it takes forever to get emails etc especially attachments. Your pics out and about Edinburgh et al are great. Hope your job search is successful Sarah, in the meantime, enjoy your new life. Love you both, Grampy & Granny
