This type of architecture is quite common in Edinburgh....there is nothing overly special about this building here....it is one of many!
Footsbarn Theater
We went to see Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" up on top of one of the highest hills in Edinburgh next to Arthur's Seat and the Salisbury Craigs- Calton Hill.
The Tent
This is the tent that we watched the play in....the floor was covered in hay and they had wooden bleachers inside with pillows to sit on

This gives you an idea of the types of masks the actors wore...they were really unique!
The Costumes
These are some of the costumes they wore...we couldn't take pictures during the play....but it was really a magical play in a magical location! It was a great start to our stay in Edinburgh....the actors are from all over the world, so it is a travelling theater company.....kind of like gypsies!

We picked up this little table and chairs from IKEA....it's super cheap, but works for us! It saves space too which is great. It also serves as Rob's work station as you can see.

Our hot water is run by a boiler in our apartment....it's quite tempermental, so we have to run the water for 5 minutes or so before we get hot water.

Can't believe it was a month since I last looked! Not being a very attentive Dad!
I found your blog while researching our upcoming trip to Bavaria, Germany in 2011. Wow, you guys are planning *exactly* the same trips we took... and my wife is a school teacher too. Ft. William Scotland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland etc. Will be following your blog... hope you post more soon.
